The Committee was founded in 2024. The head is Ksenia Stepanova, Lecturer at the Department of Private International and Civil Law named after. S.N. Lebedev of the Faculty of International Law, MGIMO Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia

The Committee aims to bring together young academics and practicing lawyers interested in the specifics of resolving construction and energy disputes in international commercial arbitration.

Given the increasing number of such disputes, the committee aims to become a platform for the exchange of academic knowledge and practical experience in the field of construction and energy arbitration.

Committee on Construction & Energy Arbitration

Investment Arbitration Committee has been functioning since the foundation of Young IMA. 

From 2020 till now, Co-Heads of Investment Arbitration Committee are 

 (Senior Associate, LGP Middle East) and 

(Counsel, Axioma; Attorney at Law, Yurlov & Partners). From 2017 to 2020, 

(Counsel, Wilkie Farr & Gallagher LLP) was Head of Committee.

Through collaborative educational and research initiatives, we aim to create a community of individuals interested in investment arbitration, as well as to expand opportunities for young professionals in this field by equipping them with the knowledge and experience necessary for their work.

Investment Arbitration Committee

Sports Arbitration Committee has been functioning since the foundation of Young IMA. 

 has been the Head of the Committee from its formation until the present time. 

We aim to support the interest of young professionals in resolving disputes in the field of professional sports through arbitration, exchange experience and knowledge, as well as assist athletes within the pro-bono projects of the Committee.

Sports Arbitration Committee

Corporate Disputes Arbitration Committee brings together young professionals whose activities are related to resolving corporate disputes and promotes the development of corporate dispute arbitration in Russia. 

It has been functioning since the foundation of Young IMA. From 2017 to 2020, Yulia Mikhaltchuk was a Head of the Committee. Since 2020, the Committee has been led by Sergey Konovalov (Partner, Saveliev, Batanov and Partners).

We aim to unite and support a new generation of lawyers interested in resolving corporate disputes.

Corporate Disputes Arbitration Committee

The committee has been functioning since 2024. The head of the committee is Ellina Izotkina, Senior associate of International Disputes Practice at Level Legal Services.

The mission of the Committee on Arbitration in Asia is to promote the strengthening of ties between Russian and Asian ADR professionals, promote best practices in international arbitration and create a platform for professional development of young professionals.

We aim to promote cooperation between Russian and Asian arbitration institutions (including HKIAC, SIAC, SCIACHK and others), facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experience, and strengthen Russia's position as an active participant in the international arbitration environment in Asia.

Asia Arbitration Committee

Arbitration and State Courts Interaction Committee has been functioning since the foundation of Young IMA. 

From 2020 till now, the Head of the Committee is 

 (Counsel, Monastyrsky, Zyuba, Stepanov & Partners).

The Head of the Committee is Dmitry Kalinichenko, Head of projects of the Criminal Law Practice at KIAP

Комитет создан с целью изучения актуальных проблем российского и международного уголовного права и процесса в сфере арбитража, анализа эффективности использования различных институтов в данной сфере и обсуждения актуальности сложившихся концепций.

Одной из важных задач, которую ставит перед собой Комитет, является развитие научного знания о защите интересов субъектов предпринимательства в различных юрисдикциях в рамках уголовного судопроизводства, вызванного разрешением споров в арбитраже.

Комитет призван объединить адвокатов, начинающих и практикующих юристов с целью обмен опытом и знаниями по существующим уголовно-правовым вопросам в сфере арбитража, формирования дискуссионной повестки и подготовки академических и практических исследований по проблематике.

Committee on Criminal Issues in Arbitration

On December 14, the Young IMA, supported by Russian Arbitration Center at Russian Institute of Modern Arbitration, held a meeting to present its updated co-chair composition for the 2024-2026 term. 

Dmitry Bayandin (counsel in the dispute resolution practice at E L W I), 

Ellina Izotkina, FCIArb (senior associate of International Disputes Practice at Level Legal Services), 

Boris Glushenkov (senior associate at Stonebridge Legal), Dmitry Ilin (partner at ILIN | ILIN), and 

Ksenia Stepanova (lecturer at the Department of Private International and Civil Law, Faculty of International Law, MGIMO Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia).
 
During the meeting, the co-chairs discussed their goals for the near future: promoting international commercial arbitration in Russia, fostering dialogue between emerging and established professionals in alternative dispute resolution, and supporting young specialists interested in international commercial arbitration.
 
The modernized committees within the Young IMA were introduced, focusing on Asia Arbitration, Investment Arbitration, Construction and Energy Arbitration, and Criminal Issues in Arbitration.
 
Additionally, Natalia Kisliakova, head of the Sports Arbitration Committee and a specialist in cross-border disputes and international litigation at the law firm PB Legal, shared plans for collaboration with international sports associations and the creation of a student competition on sports dispute arbitration.
