The Committee was founded in 2024. The head is Ksenia Stepanova, Lecturer at the Department of Private International and Civil Law named after. S.N. Lebedev of the Faculty of International Law, MGIMO Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia

The Committee aims to bring together young academics and practicing lawyers interested in the specifics of resolving construction and energy disputes in international commercial arbitration.

Given the increasing number of such disputes, the committee aims to become a platform for the exchange of academic knowledge and practical experience in the field of construction and energy arbitration.

Ksenia is a graduate of the International Law Faculty of the MGIMO Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia (bachelor's and master's degrees) and the Law Faculty of Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles (visiting scholar program). Ksenia also conducted academic research in the field of multi-party arbitration at the Institute of Contemporary Legal Studies in London.

Ksenia has experience representing clients in state courts and arbitration in international commercial and maritime disputes, and also acts as an arbitrator. At MGIMO she teaches such disciplines as international private law, international trade law, international commercial arbitration and civil procedure of foreign countries. In addition, Ksenia is a coach for the MGIMO team to participate in competitions dedicated to current issues of international commercial arbitration, including the International Competition for International Commercial Arbitration named after. M.G. Rosenberg and the Competition for Arbitration of Corporate Disputes named after. V.P. Mozolin.

Ksenia is the author of a number of publications devoted to the problems of resolving complex disputes in international commercial arbitration from the point of view of the composition of participants and contracts, and a speaker at Russian and international conferences.

Ksenia is a member of international associations of specialists in the field of arbitration: LCIA Young International Arbitration Group, ICC Young Arbitrators Forum, ICDR Young & International, ASA Below 40 of the Swiss Arbitration Association, etc.
